And the exams begin....kinda

Right, it has been a while since my last attempt at blogging and I have found it to be somewhat difficult but hell I shall persevere through it. Well, lets see, this week I have not really been doing anything at all, except for revision which, quite frankly, is not the most exciting topic on the boards. On another note, I had my first exams of the summer...well sort of. The reason for this "sort of" is because this exam is the biggest waste of time I have ever endured. This waste of time is known as Critical Thinking. This waste of an AS level has taken valuable hours away from my life and has only provided me with minimal knowledge and a supremely boring couple of exams.

Apart from this brief piece of excitement within my life in regards to critical thinking, I am almost off for half term which should, I hope, not be too soul draining what with revision and all.

I also better mention any updates on my gap year plans. Well, quite frankly, they have reached a stagnant, stand still point, which is frustrating. I will hopefully have an application off to be an HCA this week and with my work experience, voluntary work, and god I hope, grades, I will begin to piece together I second application.

I shall blog again in the near future but in the mean time peace out and have an awesome frickin' day dudes!

An Intro: Just ME

Well I guess this is more for my own personal gain than for anyone's amusement however, here goes. I am another prospective medic who wishes to document his long challenging journey into what will hopefully be a medical career.

After failing to gain entrance to 2010 entry medicine, I shall be taking a gap year and reapplying in 2011 and thus this blog shall document my experiences over the interwebs. Well currently, I am a year 13 student studying Chemistry, Biology and Geology (which I despise with every fibre in my body) at A2 level. I have my exams upcoming in a month, for which I am revising ridiculously hard for, and sometimes I feel like I shall never make it to the end.

In regards to my gap year, I have organised a few things already so that I am not being a complete bum at home for a year. Thus far, I have secured 2 work experience placements at hospitals, one with an orthopaedic surgeon and one with a cardiologist, both of which I am looking forward to. There is also a chance that I shall be travelling to Brazil to do some volunteering with some friends in the summer of 2011.

My hopes for my gap year include having a lot of fun, and making a lot of money. Shallow (and rather obvious) I know but I would hate to finish my gap year knowing it was a waste of time.

I apologise to any readers, most likely myself, for this poor blog seeing as it is very early in the morning and I am watching some Tim Minchin and thus this has not received my full attention. I hope to post here regularly documenting my experiences throughout my gap year as well as my next application process in 2011 (and hopefully onwards as a medical student....fingers crossed).

Peace out and have an awesome frickin' day dudes!
